5.3.4 Remote Antenna Location
MP Series receiver/decoders require the installation of a remote antenna. A mounting kit is provided for this
purpose that contains a 20 ft coaxial cable, an antenna mount and a mounting bracket.
The antenna should be mounted in a vertical position with a minimum of 48 inches clearance from obstructions in
all directions of the antenna within the line of sight. If this clearance is not possible, the installation must be
tested to ensure that interference does not impact the system’s performance. Contact Cattron at
www.cattron.com/contact for more information or for help in resolving any problems.
Connect the BNC end of the coaxial cable to the BNC connector on the top of the receiver/decoder electronic
chassis (Gold Box) and the PL259 connector to the remote antenna mounting bracket. Unless provided, a hole
must be cut in the bottom of the receiver/decoder enclosure for passage of the antenna cable.
If the 20 ft cable supplied with the remote antenna mounting kit is too long, simply coil the excess cable and hang
it securely out of the way of any moving equipment. If the 20 ft cable is not long enough, contact Cattron at
www.cattron.com/contact to obtain a longer cable.
