Note: The unit may be working correctly if Range Limiting
™
is
in use.
Inspect the antenna for any damage, including shorts, opens
and improper grounds. If a signal generator is available, test
the receiver sensitivity from the antenna location through the
coaxial antenna cable to the receiver. Sensitivity should be
0.8 V for 20 dB quieting. Replace any damaged antenna
components.
Substitute a spare controller.
Replace the receiver. Refer to the Receiver Replacement
procedure later in this manual.
Controller and
receiver/decoder
function
properly, but
mainline
contactor will not
pick up
Decoder has registered
an error
Decoder, relay or
interface wiring failure
Check for error bulletin messages on the decoder status
display. Correct any faulty conditions identified in the posted
bulletins.
Check the status LEDs for the Operate (OPR) relays. If the
LED is not lit when a function is activated, replace the decoder
as described in the Decoder Replacement procedure later in
this manual. If the LED lights when the function is activated,
inspect the wiring and associated fuse. Replace the relay as
described in the Relay Replacement procedure later in this
manual.
Mainline
contactor picks
up, but certain
output functions
do not work

controlled
If the controller is equipped with a PTO Bar switch, it must be
depressed along with the function switch to send certain
commands.
Observe the green Carrier Detect LED on the receiver circuit
board. It should blink rapidly whenever a function switch is
activated on the controller. If the Carrier Detect LED does not
blink, replace the controller.
If the Carrier Detect LED blinks when the controller is activated
but the Relay Status LED is not lighting, swap out the relay with
another known functional relay. If that relay does not function,
check the ribbon cable for damage and ensure all connector
pins are within the header. If the ribbon cable is serviceable,
then the decoder is faulty. Replace the decoder as described in
the Decoder Replacement procedure later in this manual.
Check the following items: power is supplied to the device
being controlled, output relay is operational in another position,
associated fuse is in good condition, interface wiring to the
driven device is in good condition, terminal screws are tight,
driven device is functional. Repair all defective components.
