SUMMARY STEPS
1. configure terminal
2. interface ethernet slot/port
3. link debounce time milliseconds
4. show interface debounce
5. exit
6. copy running-config startup-config
DETAILED STEPS
This example shows how to enable the debounce timer and set the debounce time to 1000 ms for the
Ethernet port 3/1:
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)# interface ethernet 3/1
switch(config-if)# link debounce time 1000
switch(config-if)#
This example shows how to disable the debounce timer for the Ethernet port 3/1:
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)# interface ethernet 3/1
Command Purpose
Step 1
configure terminal
Example:
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)#
Enters configuration mode.
Step 2
interface ethernet slot/port
Example:
switch(config)# interface ethernet 3/1
switch(config-if)#
Specifies an interface to configure, and
enters interface configuration mode.
Step 3
link debounce time milliseconds
Example:
switch(config-if)# link debounce time 1000
switch(config-if)#
Enables the debounce timer for the
amount of time (0 to 5000 ms) specified.
Disables the debounce timer if you
specify 0 milliseconds.
Step 4
show interface debounce
Example:
switch(config)# show interface debounce
switch(config-if)#
Shows the link debounce time for all of
the Ethernet interfaces.
Step 5
exit
Example:
switch(config-if)# exit
switch(config)#
Exits the interface mode.
Step 6
copy running-config startup-config
Example:
switch(config)# copy running-config startup-config
(Optional) Copies the running
configuration to the startup
configuration.
