M12 adapter can be used only with a copper SFP and not supported with fiber SFP.
Follow these steps to connect M12 adapter to the SFP port:
Step 1 Insert the copper SFP in the chassis.
Step 2 Ensure the O-rings are on the M12 adapter and spacer.
