5.1.4. Rebooting the firmware and resetting the unit to factory
defaults
The Cisco FM4200 Mobi hardware can be rebooted and reset to factory
default condition using the procedures in this section.
IMPORTANT
The following procedure shows how to do a 'hard' (device
firmware) reboot. To do a 'soft' (device software) reboot, refer
to “Resetting the unit to factory defaults” (page 141).
To do a 'hard' (device firmware) reboot under emergency conditions (for
example, if the unit malfunctions), do the steps in the following sub-
section.
Device firmware reboot
Press the RESET button on the bottom cover of the unit (Figure 8
(page 32)) for one second, then release the button immediately.

The unit will reboot.
Resetting the unit to factory settings
CAUTION
Do not do a factory reset unless the unit needs to be
reconfigured using its factory configuration as a starting point.
A factory reset will reset the unit's IP address and administrator
password, and will disconnect the unit from the network.
The following methods are available to do a factory reset:
1. To do the reset using the offline Configurator interface, refer to
“Resetting the unit to factory defaults” (page 141).
