2. Make sure that the terminal pin assignments for the M12X plug(s)
comply with the accepted standard for M12X LAN/PoE
connectors.
Next, proceed to the steps in the following table:
3. Remove LAN port covers as follows:
If connecting a Gigabit LAN/power-over-
Ethernet connection to the unit, remove
the protective plastic cover from the port
labelled LAN1/POE.
If connecting a service LAN to the unit,
remove the protective plastic cover from
the port labelled LAN2.
4. Wrap PTFE thread-sealing tape around the
threads of the exposed M12X connector(s) on
the unit. Use enough tape to ensure a watertight
seal.
5. Insert the correct M12X connector(s) leading
from the local LAN hardware into the LAN1/
POE port and, if needed, the LAN2 port.
6. Screw the threaded sleeves of the female
connectors onto the male connectors. Tighten
the connections by hand.
