iSelect Roaming – Selecng a BaseStaon
Installaons with mulple BaseStaon coverage zones oen require users to move from one work zone to another
throughout the day. One of the ways Tempest handles these transions is with iSelect On-Command Roaming®. Using
iSelect, a user can easily change their communicaon from one BaseStaon to another BaseStaon in just a few seconds.
Conrm that the BeltStaon has been paired with all required BaseStaons.
Conrm that there is an available slot on the desired BaseStaon. If no slot is open, power OFF one of the
connected BeltStaons, wait for 15 seconds, and proceed.
Press MENU and select “Select Base.” Scroll to the desired BaseStaon and press ENTER. Press MENU to exit.
Tempest Wireless BeltStaons remember the last 64 BaseStaons to which they have been paired.
Seamless Roaming - BeltStaon Conguraon
Installaons with mulple BaseStaon coverage zones oen require users to move from one work zone to another
throughout the day. Unlike iSelect Roaming, Seamless Roaming allows users to roam freely from one zone to another
without any manual adjustment on their part. The BeltStaon will decide when it is me to change from one coverage zone
to another.
Conrm that the BeltStaon has been paired to all the required BaseStaons in the designated coverage zones.
Set up each BeltStaons Roaming Group. Press MENU, select “Roaming,” then “Roaming Group,” and then scroll
to and select each BaseStaon that should be included in the group. To select, press ENT when cursor is next to
BaseStaon name. Up to 16 BaseStaons may be selected.
To enable roaming, Press MENU, select “Roaming,” then “Roaming Group,” and select Enable Roaming. This will
enable the BeltStaon to roam to all selected BaseStaons. When not enabled, the BeltStaon will operate as a
normal BeltStaon on one single BaseStaon.
To disable roaming, simply select a single BaseStaon from the list.
The Roaming Bias adjusts the parameters that determine when a BeltStaon will seek out a new BaseStaon. A BeltStaon’s
roaming decision is driven by a combinaon of link quality and me. It is recommended that Medium, (the default seng),
be used in most cases when seng up the system.
To Adjust the Roaming Bias (if needed), press MENU, select “Roaming,” and set Roaming Bias to one of the following:
High: Looks more frequently for other BaseStaons in the Roaming Group.
Medium: Default seng for Seamless Roaming
Low: Looks less frequently for other BaseStaons in the Roaming Group.
