Select ‘Inlet zone’ from the drop-down menu and click on ‘Read’. The default target temperature should be 4000
(40
o
C). This temperature may need to be changed to suit continuously elevated or lower climate conditions.
The active weather cover has the capability to heat and cool the air within it, depending on climatic
requirements. To establish in which mode the weather cover is working, it is necessary to observe the M/S ratio.
If the decimal value is less than 32767 then it is in cooling mode; if it is greater than 32767 then the weather
cover is in heating mode.
Now, with purge air ON align the transceiver in relation to the probe. Select 'Alignment' in the Function selector
and the following screen will appear.
Compare the background colour of the display against the coloured check boxes beneath to check if the
detector level is good, saturated or there is a comms. error. Detector levels should be 13000 to 16000.
Select the CO D2 detector for alignment as follows (this can be defined using the ‘Gas Channel Config’ function
in SmartCEM – see section 5.3.15):
a) Set auto update rate to 3 seconds and click on 'Start'.
b) Using the alignment and locking nuts on the four alignment studs (Figure 17) adjust the position of
the transceiver mount such that the gap between it and the alignment flange is equal all the way
round. Observe the alignment display in SmartCOM and start to adjust the alignment on the vertical
plane by adjusting both the alignment and the locking nuts until the maximum signal strength is
achieved.
