5.3.11. Plant Status Set-Up
The GCEM4000 monitors the plant running conditions or ‘Plant Status’. This enables the system to
automatically purge the probe during shut-down, off and start-up conditions. This is necessary to ensure
moisture does not form inside the probe and contaminate the optical surfaces.
To establish when the plant is shutting down the system can be set-up to use the flue gas temperature or
oxygen level (where fitted). The system will be supplied with a standard set-up of 80
o
C meaning that while ever
the flue gas temperature is below this level the purge air will be switched ON and will continue to be so until
such a time that the flue gas temperature rises above 80
o
C. Dependent on plant operation and fuels it may be
necessary to change this value such that it is above the dew point of the gas. This can be done by using the
‘Normalising inputs’ function as shown below:
