Note
To achieve the correct hydraulic oil level, ensure that all cylinders are fully
retracted where possible, then fill to half way up the sight glass on the
hydraulic oil gauge. Otherwise the tank may be overfilled.
6. Unscrew and remove the return filter cover (B).
7. Lift out the filter element (C) and bowl
(D) using the handle on the filter
element.
8. Remove the used filter element from the
bowl.
9. Collect the used filter element and any
escaping oil in a suitable container.
10. Apply a thin film of clean hydraulic oil to
the O-ring on the bottom of a new filter
element and fit into the bowl.
11. Check the condition of the bowl seal and
replace if necessary (apply a thin film of
clean hydraulic oil to a new seal before
fitting).
12. Insert the bowl into the housing.
13. Check the condition of the cover seal and replace if necessary (apply a thin film
of clean hydraulic oil to a new seal before fitting).
14. Clean the filter cover if necessary then refit securely. Ensure that the spring is
in place between the cover and the element.

truck has reached operating temperature.
16. Top up the hydraulic oil if necessary (see section 5.6 ‘Checking Hydraulic Oil
Level’ on page 72).
17. Dispose of waste oil and used filter elements in compliance with local
regulations.
18. Clean up any oil spills immediately.
6.15.3 Hydraulic Oil & Strainer Filter
The hydraulic oil should be analysed regularly to determine its condition. If analysis of
the hydraulic oil is not an option then it must be changed in accordance with the
maintenance schedule. Only use oil of the correct specification and suitable grade for
the ambient temperature range. The hydraulic oil and the strainer filter - located inside
the hydraulic tank - must be changed simultaneously.
* Hydraulic Tank Capacity: 59 Litres / 62.3 quarts
* The hydraulic tank capacity given is to fill the tank to half way up the sight glass on the hydraulic
oil gauge on the left hand side of the hydraulic tank.
