Trouble‐shootingprocedure:Brakelightfailure.
Brake light failure
Inspect bulb filament
Open
Filament intact
Check operation with front
brake applied
Replace bulb
Check operation with rear
brake applied
Front brake does not operate
brake light, but rear brake
does
Check front brake switch for
open circuit condition
Rear brake does not operate
brake light, but front brake
does
Check front brake circuit for
open or short circuit condition
Neither brake operates brake
light
Check rear brake switch for
open circuit condition
Check rear brake circuit for
open or short circuit condition
Check rear brake switch for
proper adjustment
Check battery output
Check for open or
short circuit from
battery and ignition
switch
Check fuse
