Appendix D. Common Mistakes
1. The CS468 comes ex-factory with a standard IP address (192.168.25.203). When the
user first opens the unit from the box, the user must use a laptop with an IP address in the
same subnet (192.168.25.x) to connect to the CS468. The user can also use the DEMO
APP program to search for the CS468 and figure out its IP address. Once connected,
then the user can change the IP address on the CS468. Once that is done, the CS468 can
be deployed in the actual site.
2. If you need to connect the CS468 to a router/switch and use the Power-over-Ethernet (PoE)
function of CS468, make sure that the router/switch you use is PoE-enabled.
3. When you use the CS468 Demo Application Program, make sure that the port number
TCP 1515, 1516 and UDP 3040, 3041 are opened (or turn off any firewall on the network).
These ports are used for the auto-discovery of the readers in the network.
