(B)Piston and connecting rod
1. Remove the screws and the connecting rod cap.
2. Push out the rod and piston assembly.
(When reassembling)
• Apply oil to the crankpin bearing, cylinder wall and
connecting rod cap screw.
• Insert the rod and piston assembly with the mark
on the rod facing the injection pump, using a piston
ring compressor.
IMPORTANT:
• Mark the cylinder number on the piston and con-
necting rod to prevent interchanging.
• Carefully insert the piston and ring assembly in the
cylinder, compressing the rings not to damage the
chrome-plate on the piston rings.
• If connecting rod cap screws can not be screwed to
the end by hand, replace the screw.
(C) Piston ring and piston pin
1. Remove the piston rings with a piston ring replac-
ing tool.
2. Remove the piston pin.
(When reassembling)
• Clean all the parts before assembling.
• Heat the piston in approx. 80 °C (176 °F) of oil for 10
to 15 minutes, when inserting the piston pin into
the piston.
