Maintenance Features:

  • EEPROM Write Protect Switch: A physical switch (or software command BIT 999 = 1/0) to protect critical system setup information in EEPROM memory from accidental writes or power interruptions. It is recommended to keep this switch OFF during normal operation and ON only during setup procedures.
  • Line-Voltage Setting: A Voltage Selector Switch on the rear panel (for A-sized mainframes) or Power Selector Board (for B-sized mainframes) allows users to set the mainframe for the local line voltage (110 or 220 V-AC).
  • Fuse/Circuit Breaker: Mainframes are equipped with a buss fuse or circuit breaker for power-supply protection. Instructions are provided for checking and replacing fuses.
  • Circuit-Card Insertion and Removal: "AA" and "10A" conditioner cards (ending in "C") are hot-pluggable, meaning they can be inserted or removed without turning off mainframe power. Other cards require the mainframe to be OFF.
  • Handling Cards with Internal Battery: Specific precautions are given for handling circuit boards containing lithium batteries to prevent damage.
