EXF900 hardware components
The EXF900 ECS appliance includes the following hardware components.

Component Description
40U rack (Optional) Titan D racks that include:
● Gen3 0U PDUs supporting single phase, three-phase delta, and three-phase WYE
● Front and rear doors
● Racking by Dell EMC manufacturing (On-site only)
In addition to the Dell EMC rack, the EXF900 nodes can be installed in customer-provided
racks. For more information about third-party racking requirements, see the ECS EXF900
Third-Party Rack Installation Guide.
Back-end (BE) switches for
private network connection
● Two Dell EMC S5248F 25 GbE 1U Ethernet switches with 48 x 25 GbE SFP ports and 4 x
100 GbE uplink ports.
● 2 x 200 GbE VLT cables per HA pair.
Front-end (FE) switches for
customer public network
connection (Optional)
● Two optional Dell EMC S5248F 25 GbE 1U Ethernet switches can be obtained for network
connection. The customer can also provide their own 25 GbE HA pair for the front end.
● If the customer provides their own front-end switches, they must supply all VLT cables,
SFPs, or external connection cables.
● If Dell EMC S5248F 25 GbE front-end switches are used, then 2 x 200 GbE VLT cables are
provided.
Nodes
● Minimum number of nodes per rack is 5 with increments of 1 node up to a maximum of 16
nodes.
● NVMe SSD drive sizes are 3.84 TB at the launch. 7.68 TB drives may be added when
available.
● There are no systems that ship fully racked. The customer can buy a rack, the PDUs, and
the service tray, all separately.
● 12 or 24 NVMe SSD drives in each node.
● 480 GB M2 (BOSS) system disk in each node.
● 192 GB RAM per node and 12x16GB Dual Rank RDIMMs.
● Dual Intel Xeon 24-core 165 W CPUs.
●
Dual 1100 W Platinum power supply (hot swappable).
● Each node has 4 x 25 GbE networking.
