Usage Features:

  • Remote Control Pairing: A simple procedure involving opening a door, turning the ignition ON, pressing and holding the Control Center button, then pressing a button on each remote.
  • Basic Remote Functions: Arm, Disarm, Remote Start, Trunk Release, AUX (programmable).
  • Programming System Features: Access various feature menus (Basic, Advanced, Remote Start) using the Control Center button and remote control or White/Blue (-) Activation Input wire.
  • Bitwriter Compatibility: The Bitwriter (P/N 998U, chip version 2.7 or newer) offers extended programming options and fine-tuning capabilities, including locking/unlocking programming access.
  • Virtual Tach: Learns engine cranking and running characteristics to optimize starter output. Not recommended for diesel vehicles. Can be fine-tuned with Bitwriter.
  • Analog/Data Tach Learning: Alternative to Virtual Tach for precise engine monitoring.
  • Remote Start Shutdown Diagnostics: Provides LED flash codes to indicate the cause of remote start failure (e.g., runtime expired, over-rev, low RPM, hood open, brake active, parking brake active, WTS timed out).

    • Reset Features: Restores all system features to factory default settings.
    • Virtual Tach Reset: Deletes all learned Virtual Tach values, initiating a new learning sequence on the next remote start.
  • Troubleshooting Guides: Comprehensive sections for alarm and remote start issues, including:
    • Shock sensor not triggering.
    • Door input issues (progressive trigger, incorrect wiring).
    • Door locks operating backward.
    • Remote start not activating (shutdown diagnostics, wiring checks).
    • Remote start activates but starter doesn't engage (voltage checks, tach wire, immobilizer).
    • Vehicle starts but immediately dies (immobilizer, engine checking mode, tach programming).
    • Vehicle starts but starter keeps running (engine checking mode, tach learn, wiring).
    • Vehicle starts but only runs for 10 seconds (voltage sense).
    • Climate control system not working during remote start (accessory wiring, electronic climate control reset).

Safety Warnings:

  • Installation by authorized Directed dealers only.
  • Never operate in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas due to carbon monoxide risk.
  • Disable remote start using the toggle switch when parking in enclosed areas or during service.
  • Keep remote controls out of reach of children.
  • Install a carbon monoxide detector in living areas adjacent to vehicle storage.
  • Never remotely start a vehicle in gear or with keys in the ignition.
  • Periodically check parking brake/emergency brake feature to ensure the vehicle does not remote start in gear.
  • Not for installation in manual transmission vehicles due to safety risks.
  • Never connect 200mA low current outputs directly to a motor or high current device without a relay.
