Maintaining User Profiles
Many administrative processes require changes to User Profiles. The most common change
requests are as follows:
Password reset when user forgets password
Changes to access rights when user changes positions
Disable profile when user is terminated or voluntarily leaves the company
Steps:
1. Type "WRKUSRPRF" on the command line and press the F4 (PROMPT) key
or
ENTER key
OR
From Main Menu, select Option 7
From Define or Change the System, select Option 3
From Security, select Option 6
2. From Work with User Profiles, enter "xxxx" (xxxx = user profile name) on the user
profile line to display the specific user's profile.
3. For each of the situations above, enter "2" beside user name and press enter key:
For password resets, enter "*Same" in User Password to reset to same as
user name
For profile disables, enter "*Disable" in Status
For other changes such as access rights, make changes as needed
To delete a user profile, enter "4" beside user name. Note: Profiles cannot
be deleted if the user owns objects, such as files, jobs, etc. These objects
must be moved to another user before deleting.
