RS485-1 is the extension port of ELC-12 CPU(new version) named COM2 ,it usually servers as

extension port , but it also can be used as common RS485 port if no any extensions need use

in your application and at the same time two RS485 ports need be used. The standard RS485

module cannot bring out the terminals of COM2 built-in ELC-12 series CP U, so one customize

RS485 module should be used for this case.

RS485-2 is the common RS485 port built-in ELC-12 series CP U ,ELC12-E-RS485 module is

used to bring out the terminals from this port named COM3. Additionally ,ELC12-E-ETHERNET

module is also using this port to connect with ETHERNET.
