Oil Seal Replacement
Removal
1. Use a pry bar or screwdriver to remove the oil
seal.
Note:
The removed oil seal should not be
reused.
Installation
Note: If removed, always replace the oil seal.
1. Coat the new seal lips with the recommended
grease.
2. Position the seal on the rear case and install it in
the bore using the proper tool.
Note:
Use the proper device for the transmission
(refer to “Special Tools”, in this manual).

Rear Section Assembly
1. Place transmission with the rear section facing
up.
2. Install the 5th/reverse linked shift block.
3. Install the 5th/reverse linked shift block retaining
roll pin using the recommended special pin
E0021001 punch and the reverse light switch
thread protector bushing.
Note:
Replace the roll pin by a new one.
4.
Install the reverse light switch.
Note: Apply Eaton 680 or Eaton 679
sealant to the switch threads.
