16. Install the 3rd speed synchronizer ring.

17. Install the 3rd/4th speed synchronizer assembly.
Make sure it is installed in the proper position.
WARNING! Both the largest chamfer of the
synchronizer sleeve and the most protruding side
of the hub of the 3rd/4th speed synchronizer must
face the 3rd speed gear (refer to “Synchronizer
Assemblies”).
The 3rd/4th speed synchronizer hub does have
an anti-escape relief, which must face the 3rd
speed gear (refer to “Synchronizer Assemblies”).
19. Check if the pressing procedure has been
successful: disengage the synchronizer and put it
in an intermediate position between 3rd and 4th
speed gears. The gears in this condition should
rotate freely.

20. Install the 3rd/4th speed synchronizer hub
retaining snap ring.

18. Using special tools E010001 and 010002, press
the late installed set of components onto the
mainshaft. Make sure to align the synchronizer
ring lugs with hub key slots to properly t.
WARNING! Apply force to bearing inner race.
NEVER apply force to the bearing cage.

21. Position the front bearing cone on the mainshaft.
22. Using the special tool E010001, press the front
bearing cone.

NEVER apply force to the bearing cage.
