23. Install the reverse gear on the mainshaft with
the hub prominent side facing the housing
inside.
24. Install the rear bearing thrust washer on the
countershaft.
NOTE: On countershaft with threadless end,
which uses a snap ring instead of the nut,
the thrust washer has a retaining ball (see
detail), which should also be installed.

21. Install the reverse idler gear on the shaft with
the prominent side facing the housing outside.
22. Install the reverse gear spacer bushing on the
mainshaft.
