Gear Shift Lever Housing Assembly

10. Lubricate the gear shift lever end with
multipurpose grease and install the end
bushing by pressing the bushing with the
fingers.
11. Protect the gear shift lever housing opening on
the transmission housing and remove any
remaining sealant from the mounting surface
of both transmission housing and the gear shift
lever housing.
12. Apply sealant to the gear shift lever housing
mounting surface. Spread the sealant properly
to prevent leaks.
NOTE: Apply Eaton E680 or Eaton E679
sealant to the mounting surface.
13. Install the gear shift lever housing assembly on
the transmission.
14. Install the four retaining capscrews in the gear
shift lever housing and tighten to the proper
torque.
e NOTE: Apply Eaton E677 sealant to
th capscrews.
Torque = 19-25 N.m (14-19 Lb.ft)
