Using the I/O Option Cards
USING THE I/O OPTION CARDS7
Overview
The PXM 2000 Series offers extensive Using the one universal Option Card slot, the unit can be
easily congured to accept a new I/O Option card even after installation, without your needing to remove it from the
installation. The meter auto-detects any installed Option card. One module of any type outlined in this chapter can
be used per meter.
Installing an Option Card
The Option Card is inserted in the Option Card slot in the back of the meter.
Remove Voltage Inputs and power supply terminal from the meter before performing card installation.
1. Remove the screws at the top and the bottom of the Option Card slot cover.
2. There is a plastic “track” on the top and the bottom of the slot. The Option card ts into this track.
3. Slide the card inside the plastic track and insert it into the slot. You will hear a click when the card
is fully inserted. Be careful, it is easy to miss the guide track.

• Make sure the I/O card is inserted properly into the track to avoid damaging the card’s components.
• For proper t of cards, and to avoid damaging the unit, insert components in the following order:
1. Option Card
2. Detachable terminal block 1


