Patient environment means any volume in which intentional or unintentional contact can occur
between the patient and parts of the system or between patient and other persons touching parts of
the system (reference IEC 60601-1). It is difficult to apply unique dimensions to the volume, and
the dimensions given in the figure below have been justified.
