Why is the EFI Controller Fiery icon unavailable on the copier/printer touch panel?
C
cwilkersonAug 16, 2025
The Fiery icon might not appear if there's a problem with the system software, a corrupt or large print job, a faulty UIB cable, an overheated CPU, or a faulty motherboard. To resolve this, try the following:
1. Reboot the copier/printer and the EFI E-43A Controller.
2. Ensure both devices have matching time and date information.
3. Check and reseat the cable connections between the E-43A and the copier/printer.
4. Replace the external cables one by one.

What to do if EFI Controller print job stalls?
N
nathan82Aug 22, 2025
If a print job stalls or stops after a few pages, it could be due to a PostScript or application error, or corrupted system software. You can try the following:
1. Cancel the print job.
2. Reboot the E-43A.
3. Clear the server from Command WorkStation.
4. Set Print Cover Page to Yes and resend the job, checking for a "PS Error" on the cover page.
Corrupt system software may cause the system to hang.

Poor print quality may be due to a file or application problem, a missing or outdated printer description file, the application's inability to find the correct printer description file, or the system being out of calibration. Try these steps:
1. Print an E-43A Test Page.
2. If the test page quality is good, the problem might be with the file or application.
3. Ensure the appropriate printer description file is installed.
