The configuration of FOUNDATION Fieldbus functions and device-specific parameters is primarily
done via the fieldbus interface. You can obtain special configuration and operating programs from
various manufacturers for these purposes.
2. Miniature switches (DIP switches) for diverse hardware settings

You can make the following hardware settings for the FOUNDATION Fieldbus interface using
miniature switches (DIP switches) on the I/O board or the amplifier board:
• Enabling/disabling the simulation mode in the AI and DO function block
• Switching the hardware write protection on/off
