Installing the S-POE-PS Power Supplies in the PoE Subsystem
ThePoEsubsystemmustbeinstalledontheS8chassisbeforeins tallingtheS‐POE‐PSpower
suppliesinthePoEsubsystem.ForinformationonupgradinganS8chassiswithaPoEsubsystem,
seetheEnterasysS‐SeriesPoESubsystemUpgradeInstallation Guide.
ToinstalltheS‐POE‐PSpower
suppliesinthePoEsubsystem:
1. OpentheejectionhandlefaceplateoftheS‐POE‐PSpowersupplybyreleasingthespringclip
onthelowerleftofthefaceplate.
2. Alignthepowersupplywithbay1(labeledPS1),thenslidetheS‐POE‐PSpowersupply
forwarduntiltheS‐POE‐PS
powersupplyispluggedintothesubsystemconnectorandis
completelyinsidethebay.See Figure 3‐15.
Thepowersupply’sfaceplatewillcloseasthepowersupplyplugsintothesubsystem
connector.
IfyouencountersignificantresistancebeforetheS‐POE‐PSpowersupplyreachestheendof
itstravel,
removeandreinsertthepowersupply.

3. Closethepowersupply’sfaceplatecompletelyagainstthespringcliponthepowersupply.
