chassisRJ45COMporttoaPCrunningaVTseriesemulationsoftwarepackage.
UsingtheUTPcableandanoptionalRJ45toDB25femaleadapter,youcanconnecttoanS8
chassisRJ45COMporttoaVTseriesterminalor
VTtypeterminalsrunningemulationprograms
fortheVTseries.
Connecting to a PC or Laptop
ToconnectaPCorlaptoprunningtheVTterminalemulationtoanS8chassisCOMport:
1. ConnecttheRJ45connectoratoneendofthecabletotheoneoftheCOMportsontheS8
chassis.
TheS8chassisCOMportthatyouconnecttomusthaveanI/O
fabricmoduleinthe
correspondingslot.
2. PlugtheRJ45connectorattheotherendofthecableintotheRJ45toDB9adapter.
3. ConnecttheRJ45toDB9adaptertothecommunicationsportonthePC.
4. ConfiguretheVTemulationpackageonyourPCorlaptopasfollows:
Whentheseparametersare
set,theLocalManagementpasswordscreenwilldisplay.Refertothe
CompletingtheInstallationonpage 331forfurtherinformation.
