The actual character width is defined by print density in the horizontal direction and the number of
horizontal dots per character. Standard character width consists of this character width plus right-side
spacing of the character. Standard character width is used as a reference for setting the number of
printable characters per line. The character width for an actual printed character is called print
character width . Print character width may be larger than standard character width , depending on the
settings of the right side spacing and the double-width mode.
