Operating Instructions
Transponder-Coded Safety Switch CTS-C1-BP/BR-FLX

13. Setup
13.1. Conguring device and teaching-in actuator for the rst time
The device must be congured and the actuator must be allocated to the safety switch before the system forms a functional
unit. During conguration, the function actuator is used to activate or deactivate guard lock monitoring and dene the coding
level. In other words, the selection of the actuator determines the function of the device.
Conguration and the teach-in operation occur simultaneously in the delivery state or after a factory reset.

WARNING
Danger to life due to improper use
Ì During the initial conguration or reconguration after a factory reset, ensure that all risk assessment
measures for the selected function are performed.
Important!
Ì If the actuator to be taught-in is in the actuating range for less than 30s, the device will not be
congured and the actuator will not be taught-in.
Prerequisite:
Ì The device is in the delivery state. A factory reset must be performed before a precongured device can be recongured
(see chapter 14. Factory reset on page 35).
Ì The device is isolated from the operating voltage.
1. Apply operating voltage.
¨ The STATE LED ashes white quickly. The device is carrying out a self-test.
¨ The STATE LED illuminates white. The device is in unlimited teach-in standby.
2. Insert an actuator.
¨ The teach-in operation begins. The STATE LED ashes alternately white/violet slowly.
¨ The teach-in operation ends after approx. 30s. The STATE LED ashes alternately green/blue quickly (approx. 3Hz).
3. Switch off operating voltage for at least 3s.
¨ The code of the actuator taught-in is activated in the safety switch. The actuator is valid.
4. Switch on operating voltage.
¨ The device operates normally.
