13. Setup
13.1. Conguring device and teaching-in actuator for the rst time
The device must be congured and the actuator must be allocated to the safety switch before the system forms a functional
unit. During conguration, the function actuator is used to activate or deactivate guard lock monitoring and dene the coding
level. In other words, the selection of the actuator determines the function of the device.
Conguration and the teach-in operation occur simultaneously in the delivery state or after a factory reset.

Ì During the initial conguration or reconguration after a factory reset, ensure that all risk assessment
measures for the selected function are performed.
Important!
Ì If the actuator to be taught-in is in the actuating range for less than 30s, the device will not be
congured and the actuator will not be taught-in.
Prerequisite:
Ì The device is in the delivery state. A factory reset must be performed before a precongured device can be recongured
(see chapter 14. Factory reset on page 35).
Ì The device is isolated from the operating voltage.
1. Apply operating voltage.
¨ The STATE LED ashes white quickly. The device is carrying out a self-test.
¨ The STATE LED illuminates white. The device is in unlimited teach-in standby.
2. Insert an actuator.
¨ The teach-in operation begins. The STATE LED ashes alternately white/violet slowly.
¨ The teach-in operation ends after approx. 30s. The STATE LED ashes alternately green/blue quickly (approx. 3Hz).
3. Switch off operating voltage for at least 3s.
¨ The code of the actuator taught-in is activated in the safety switch. The actuator is valid.
4. Switch on operating voltage.
¨ The device operates normally.
