Why is the Exterity AvediaStream e2535 Media Converter streaming broken video/audio?
    • J
      Judy RamseyJul 31, 2025
If the Exterity Media Converter is streaming but the video and/or audio is broken up on the client, it might be because the network is not IGMP enabled. Check the configuration of the network switches and look for any errors. Alternatively, the streaming bit rate might exceed the client's capability. In this case, try lowering the encoding bit rate.

What to do if Exterity AvediaStream e2535 Media Converter is streaming but client cannot connect?
    • C
      cwilliamsAug 4, 2025
If the Exterity Media Converter device is definitely streaming, but the client cannot connect to the stream, there might be several reasons: * The multicast address might not be unique, especially if it was assigned manually. Double-check its uniqueness. * The client might not accept the encoding type. Try updating the client software or use a different client to view the stream. * If using a PC client, the PC firewall might be preventing video traffic. Disable the firewall or configure it to allow traffic to this application.

How to fix Exterity AvediaStream e2535 not showing in AvediaServer Director?
    • K
      Kelly KellyAug 9, 2025
If the Exterity Media Converter device does not appear in AvediaServer Director, the network connection might be faulty, or the device cannot obtain an IP address. Check the Ethernet connections or replace the cable. Also, verify that the DHCP Server is running on the network and that the switch settings match the unit's Ethernet settings.

Why is Exterity Media Converter still running old firmware after upgrade?
    • A
      Amy Klein DDSAug 13, 2025
If, after an upgrade, the Exterity Media Converter device is still running the old version of firmware, it could be due to several reasons: * The correct firmware file is not on the TFTP Server. Ensure the correct file is placed on the TFTP Server. * The TFTP Server address configured for the device is wrong. Verify that the TFTP Server address matches the address of the machine running the TFTP Server. * The TFTP Server is not running. Start the TFTP Server. * The TFTP Server is not configured to send files. Adjust the security settings on the TFTP Server to allow file sending.

Why is my Exterity AvediaStream e2535 Media Converter encoder not streaming?
    • V
      Vincent RamseyAug 18, 2025
If the Exterity Media Converter encoder does not appear to be streaming, it could be due to the AV source not being connected or powered off. Check the connections and power to the AV source. Also, check the status page to see if the encoder detects a valid video source. Another possibility is that the video input setting is incorrect. Ensure that the video input setting matches the AV input to the encoder.

What causes high temperature in Exterity AvediaStream e2535?
    • S
      Stacy MartinAug 21, 2025
If the Exterity Media Converter board temperature is more than 20 degrees centigrade above the ambient temperature, it could be due to blocked air vents. Check that the air vents are not obstructed. Another reason could be that the fans have stopped running. Verify that the fans are functioning correctly. If neither of these issues is present, and the problem continues, switch off the unit and contact your Exterity systems integrator or reseller.

What to do if AvediaServer Director cannot communicate with Exterity AvediaStream e2535?
    • T
      Tyler JuarezAug 26, 2025
If AvediaServer Director cannot communicate with the Exterity Media Converter device, ensure the device does not have an IP address on a different subnet to the management station. Use a management station configured with an appropriate IP address to manage the device. Also, if the device is upgrading, indicated by alternately slow and fast LED flash, wait for the upgrade to complete.
