5.9 Lights
Different lighting systems are installed depend-
ing
ontheareaofuseandbicycletype.Ifthisis
done using a daytime running light function, the
system will always switch automatically between
lowbeamanddaytimerunninglight.
FLYER with pedal assist over 25 km/h with
highbeam
Basic setting: when the system is activated, the
low beam/daytime running light is automatically
switchedon.
Lightbuttonfunction:Switchbetweenlowbeam/
daytime running light and high beam
FLYERe-mountainbikes
Basic setting: when the system is activated, the
light remains switched off
Light button functions: Activate the light (high
beam) by pressing the light button; switch to low
beam/daytime running light by pressing the light
buttonagain.Switchoffthelightbypressingand
holding the light button (at least 1 second)
FLYERwithpedalassistupto25km/h
Basic setting: when the system is activated, the
light remains switched off

Speed sensor
The speed sensor is used to show the speed in
theFLYERD1displayandcorrectlycalculatethe
assistanceneeded.
The speed sensor and the associated spoke magnet
must be fastened so that the distance between the
spoke magnet and the marking position on the speed
sensoris 1to5mm.Ifthedistance isdifferent,an
errormessagewillappear.
Powersupplytoexternaldevices
YoucanusetheUSBporttochargeexternalde-
vices,
e.g.smartphones,thatcanbepoweredvia
USB. The charging cable of the device can be
connected directly to the FLYER D1 display, as
ithas aUSBtypeAport.Therefore,there isno
needforanadaptercable.
Inordertochargeexternaldevices,yourFLYER
e-bikemustcontainachargedFLYERbattery.
Open the cover of the USB port on the display
andconnectthedevice’schargingcabletoit.
Do not place the connected device on
a tilted or unstable place while charg
-
ing.
Otherwise, it could fall and be-
come
damaged.
Do not charge external devices in
rainyweatherorconnectawetUSB
cable.TheUSBconnectionisnotwa
-
terproof!
You must not connect external de-
vices when riding in the rain and the
USB
portmustbecompletelycovered
bytheprotectivecap.
Afterusing theUSBport,besureto
rmlytightentherubbercap.
MakesurethatthevoltageoftheUSB
port is suitable for your device. (For
