(the German regulations authorising the use of

arenotauthorisedforuseonroads.Pleaseask
yourFLYERspecialistretaileraboutmakingyour
FLYER E-MTB StVZO-compliant if you wish to
rideitonroads.
FLYER e-bikesarenot licensedforuse incom

petitions
andcontests.Ifyouhaveanyquestions
regarding the bike’s limits of use, please don’t
hesitatetocontactyourFLYERspecialistretailer
ormanufacturer.
Before riding on public roads with your FLYER,
inform yourself on the current riding regulations in
yourcountry.Onlyrideonpathwaysandtrailsthat
arepermittedforvehicles.
7.1 RidingyourMTBresponsibly
WhenyouareoutonyourFLYERMTB,
make sure to ride responsibly and consider
nature,theenvironmentandyourfellowhumans.
Considerate actions preserve the natural environ
-
ment in which you practise your sport and ensure
conict-free
interactionswithotherusers.
Therefore, please observe the following rules:
Onlyrideonmarkedpathssoasnottodam
-
age
thenaturalenvironment.Acceptrouteclo-
sures, riding bans and wildlife protection areas
as
theyexistforareason.
Onlybrakewithlockingwheelsinanemergen-
cy, as this can cause soil erosion and damage
to
paths.
Ride in a controlled and careful manner at an
appropriatespeed.Youmustalwaysbeableto
brake within your range of vision in case obsta
-
cles,
otherbikersorpedestriansappear.
Announce your presence in good time if you
wish to overtake someone else. Do not sur-
prise
themandpassthemslowlyorbrake.
Lookoutforgrazinganimalsandanimalsinfor-
ests
andelds.Donotleaveanycountrygates
open if you pass through them and do not ride in
the forest after dark so as not to disturb animals
lookingforfoodorsleeping.
Plan your tour thoroughly and observe the
weather forecast. Be aware of your capabili
-
ties, take them into account when choosing a
route
and take all necessary equipment with
you.Thisincludestools,provisionsandarst-
aidkitforunexpectedsituations.Wearappro
-
priate
equipment(helmet,protectors)foryour
safety.
Donotleavebehindanyrubbish.
Wear protectors and a helmet for your
safety.
8. Beforetherstride
Ensurethatthee-bikeisreadyforuseandadjust-
ed
totyourbody.
This includes:
Settingthepositionandxtureoftheseatand
handlebars
Adjustingthebrakes
Securing the wheels into the frame and fork
Toensurethatyouenjoyasafeandcomfortable
ridingposition,pleaseallowyourFLYERspecial
-
ist
retailertosetupyourhandlebarsandstem.
Have the saddle set to a safe and comfortable
position(seeChapter11.2).
Havethebrake handlessetbytheFLYERspe
-
cialist retailer so that you can reach them easily
at all times and can use the brake without getting
tired.
Be sure to familiarise yourself with the
brake le
-
vers
connectedtothefrontandbackwheels–the
left brake lever is usually for the front wheel and
the right lever is usually for the back one! Howev-
er,
beforetherstrideyoushouldalways
check how the brake handles are connected on
yourFLYERasitmaybedifferent.
