rideitonroads.

Before riding on public roads with your FLYER,
inform yourself on the current riding regulations in
yourcountry.Onlyrideonpathwaysandtrailsthat
arepermittedforvehicles.
7.1 RidingyourMTBresponsibly
WhenyouareoutonyourFLYERMTB,
make sure to ride responsibly and consider
nature,theenvironmentandyourfellowhumans.
Considerate actions preserve the natural environ

ment in which you practise your sport and ensure
conict-free
interactionswithotherusers.
Therefore, please observe the following rules:
• Onlyrideonmarkedpathssoasnottodam

thenaturalenvironment.Acceptrouteclo-
sures, riding bans and wildlife protection areas
as
theyexistforareason.
• Onlybrakewithlockingwheelsinanemergen-
cy, as this can cause soil erosion and damage
to
paths.
• Ride in a controlled and careful manner at an
appropriatespeed.Youmustalwaysbeableto
brake within your range of vision in case obsta

cles,
otherbikersorpedestriansappear.
• Announce your presence in good time if you
wish to overtake someone else. Do not sur-
prise
themandpassthemslowlyorbrake.
• Lookoutforgrazinganimalsandanimalsinfor-
ests
andelds.Donotleaveanycountrygates
open if you pass through them and do not ride in
the forest after dark so as not to disturb animals
lookingforfoodorsleeping.
• Plan your tour thoroughly and observe the
weather forecast. Be aware of your capabili

ties, take them into account when choosing a
route
and take all necessary equipment with
you.Thisincludestools,provisionsandarst-
aidkitforunexpectedsituations.Wearappro

safety.

8. Beforetherstride
Ensurethatthee-bikeisreadyforuseandadjust-

totyourbody.
This includes:
• Settingthepositionandxtureoftheseatand
handlebars
• Adjustingthebrakes
• Securing the wheels into the frame and fork
Toensurethatyouenjoyasafeandcomfortable
ridingposition,pleaseallowyourFLYERspecial

retailertosetupyourhandlebarsandstem.
Have the saddle set to a safe and comfortable
position(seeChapter11.2).
Havethebrake handlessetbytheFLYERspe

cialist retailer so that you can reach them easily
at all times and can use the brake without getting
tired.
Be sure to familiarise yourself with the
brake le

connectedtothefrontandbackwheels–the
left brake lever is usually for the front wheel and
the right lever is usually for the back one! Howev-
er,
beforetherstrideyoushouldalways
check how the brake handles are connected on
yourFLYERasitmaybedifferent.
