Maintenance
5. Swivel the escrow to the right until the hook (5) comes free and lift the escrow
out of the terminal
Install in reverse order
When installing the escrow feel with your fingers that the escrow is aligned with
the coin funnel. It will then easily slot in place.
If the door does not close or if the coin inlet is not aligned with the validator,
adjust the position of the escrow
7.4 Card readers
Cleaning
The magstripe read head in this device needs regular cleaning using
commercially available cleaning cards for magstripe card readers.
Testing
Test the function of the card reader regularly by making test purchases
7.4.1
Card reader replacement
Replacing the card reader depends on the model installed.
card readers are often equipped with tamper switches on both the card reader
and pin pad. Partly unscrewing the reader may already trigger the tamper switch
making the reader useless. If this is the case, the reader must be sent back to
the supplier to reset the switch.
Reference:
How to safely dismount and mount a reader is described in the reader's
installation guide: e.g. Globalcom External PayUnit - Mounting Instructions
7.5
Display module
This section is about cleaning of the outmost surface of the display modules.
Clean the outside using a very soft cloth such as the type used for cleaning
glasses. Moisten with mild cleaning detergent solution.
Important:
Do not forget to clean the glass in front of the warning/error indicator and the
ambient light sensor. If the light sensor is obstructed, this can increase the power
consumption of the terminal.
