the dropout can move freely.

Tighten the chain/drive belt using the adjusting
screw A2. The correct chain tension is reached
when the chain can still move up and down slight-
ly in the centre (10-15 mm). The correct belt ten-
sion must be checked using a belt tension meas-
uring device. Consult the belt manufacturer’s
instructions to determine the correct tension.

The Gates Carbon Drive belt is very durable and
long-lasting. However, you must take extreme
care before and during assembly to ensure that
no damage is caused to the carbon bres that

bending and twisting causes tears that can lead
to faults in the belt if subjected to high stress.
Follow the instructions for handling the Gates

Bicycle chains are wearing parts. The degree of
wear varies considerably. Have the chain of your
FLYER regularly checked by your FLYER special

• Chain gears: 1500-2000 km
A worn bike chain/drive belt can break
and cause very serious falls. Worn bicy-
cle chains must therefore immediately
be changed by your FL
YER specialist
retailer.
If the chain/belt drive of your FLYER
E-bike has fallen o the chain ring or

before placing the chain back on the
gear wheels.
The chain/belt drive may only be tight-
ened once the electrical system has
been
switched o and the battery has
been removed.
Regularly care for your bicycle chain by cleaning
and greasing it. These measures reduce prema

ture wear.
To ensure that the chain and gears can
work safely, the chain must have a cer-
tain level of tension. Chain gear systems
tense the chain automatically

case of hub gears, chains which are too
loose must be tightened. It might other
