6.4 Audit Log Setup
Audit trail logs (hereinafter referred to as "audit log") that record performed operations by using the ETER-
NUS DX Disk storage system and the system actions that are associated with these operations can be sent to
the specified syslog server (external server).
•
Up to two syslog servers can be set.
•
After the environmental settings for audit logs are complete, confirm that the audit log is successfully
received on the syslog server.
•
Even if a communication error occurs between the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system and the syslog serv-
er, the audit log is not sent again.
The audit log setting is explained below.
1 On the navigation of the ETERNUS Web GUI screen, click [System].
The [System] screen appears.
2 In [Category], click [Audit Log].
The [Audit Log] screen appears.
3 If "Disable" is specified for "Audit Log", select "Enable".
(1) Click [Enable Audit Log] in [Action].
A confirmation screen appears.
(2) Click the [OK] button.
Enabling of the audit log starts.
(3) Check the setting completion message and click the [Done] button.
The screen display returns to the [Audit Log] screen.
4 Specify the syslog server to which the audit log is sent.
(1) Click [Setup Audit Log] in [Action].
The [Setup Audit Log] screen appears.
• Select "on (RFC3164)" or "on (RFC5424)" for "Send Audit Log".
To send messages in RFC5424 format to a target syslog server that supports RFC5424, select
"on (RFC5424)". If this is not the case, select "on (RFC3164)".
