What to do if scanning does not start on Fujitsu ScanSnap?

If scanning won't start on your Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner, first ensure ScanSnap Manager is installed. Disconnect and then reconnect the power or USB bus power cable, waiting at least five seconds before reconnecting. Verify the USB cable is properly connected, and if using a USB hub, check that it’s a powered hub with an AC adapter. If ScanSnap Manager isn't running, start it via the Start menu under All Programs, then ScanSnap Manager, or via Applications, then ScanSnap in Finder.
