3. Function and overview of each board
3.1 PANEL (05P0701)
The PANEL Board is composed of the LCD unit, key switch, LED display of each switch, and buzzer.
Audio alarm is generated by the buzzer, and is also output from external speaker. LCD unit provides
120 x 64 dots (3 x 5 dots per character, maximum 300 characters). Contrast is adjustable in 64 levels
and backlighting of the keyboard in 8 levels.
The front panel is provided with OVEN indication of reference oscillator of both watch-keeping receiver
PCBs, which is normally ON if power is input irrespective of power switch status.
The alarm LED on the front panel flashes as follows.
- When distress alert message is received ----- Red LED flashing
- When safety message is received ------ Green LED flashing
- When ship’s business message or routine message is received ----- Green LED slowly flashing
The audio alarm sounds in the following condition:
- When distress button is pressed, until distress alert is treansmitted..---- Always on
- When distress or urgent message is received. ---- Always on
- When safety message is received.
- When ship’s business or routine message is received.
- PSTN CALL receiving sound. (generated by telephone)
- When no position data is received from the navigational equipment.
- Key click sound. ---- Setting ON/OFF on SETUP menu.
Volume of alarm can be controlled on “SETUP MENU”.
