2.2 There is no NMEA (Position data) input
The warnings about position data are:
1) If position data is not updated, the message “Warning:Update position” appears.
2) If NMEA data is interrupted, the message “EPFS error”.
To receive position data, set POSITION in “Setup menu” at “AUTO”. Refer to Page 4-8.
DIP switch S5-4 of CONTROL/MODE board must also be set at ON (C Loop) or OFF (RS-422).

The ship position and UTC time in NMEA data are displayed on DSC standby screen. The date and
time are printed out when selftest results, and transmitting/receiving messages are printed in AUTO.
Thus, it is recommended to choose sentence RMC including position, time and date, or ZDA and a
sentence including position data.
