Chapter 6 Measurement
1. General
MF/HF DSC signal, FIB (J2B) can not be transmitted even if PTT switch of the handset at radiotele-
phone side or at DSC side is pressed. The method of transmitting the DSC signal, modulated radio wave
differs according to REMOTE STATION menu setting in “System setup” menu. Of course, DSC tone
signals (1700 Hz±85 Hz) are generated by the DSC-60 and sent to the radiotelephone.
- When REMOTE STATION is set to ON, press the PTT switch on the DSC handset.
- When REMOTE STATION is set to OFF, BK in the DSC test menu is ON.
2. Measurements
2.1 Measuring tone frequencies
1. Connect a dummy load of 600 ohms to “LINE OUT” of RT port.
2. Pressing [#/SETUP] key reveals “Setup menu” screen. Select TEST and press [ENT] key. Then, the
following “Test function” screen appears.
To execute the test function, cancel “PROTECTION”: Enter [ ] from the numeric keys.
3. Selecting TONE and pressing [ENT] key reveals a submenu.
Choose “MARK” or “Space” to be measured and turn the signal ON by pressing [ENT] key. For
example, choose “SPACE”.
Note) If [CANCEL] key is pressed while holding “ON”, the submenu screen returns to “Test
function” screen keeping the “ON” state.
