1.DAILY TEST
4. NG of REMOTE DP
This is the communication test with NBDP. MIF command, CAID (CALL ID) is sent to the connected
NBDP, and the model name included in the response characters received from the NBDP is displayed.
“NG” means there is no response from the connected units.
If “NG” appears, check the following:
- Is the power for NBDP main unit and terminal unit turned on? For the test, turn “ON” the
power.
- Once turn off power for NBDP and carry out the test.
- Check the wiring between NBDP port of DSC-60 and NBDP. TD line is conncected to RD
line.
- Check the DIP switch settings of DSC-60. Refer to Page 4-17.
(S3–#1 and –#2 on CONTROL/MODEM board must be turned “ON”.)
- Confirm that NBDP PORT in “System setup” menu is set at “ON”. Refer to Page 4-16.
- Check the settings of NBDP:
DP-5 --> Terminal setting: If DSC-60 is connected to Remote B (A), the Remote B
(A) line must be set at “DSC”.
DP-6 --> No need. DSC-60 must be connected to Remote B of DP-6.
- Execute the loopback test. Refer to Page 5-7.
Connect a jumper wire between TD/RD signal lines (between NBDP: J1-#2 and J1-#3).
If the loopback test executed above is:
- OK --> There is no problem with DSC-60. The problem is about the connected unit side.
- NG --> The problem is about DSC-60. Change the CONTROL/MODEM board with new one.
Reference)
If nothing is displayed on NBDP line, NBDP PORT in “System setup” menu is set at “OFF”.
