Chapter 2 Getting Started
Elements You Need
For a complete system, Galil recommends the following elements:
1. DMC-41x3 series motion controller
2. Motor Amplifiers (integrated when using Galil amplifiers)
3. Power Supply for controller and amplifiers
4. Brushed or brushless servo motors with encoders or stepper motors
5. Cables for connecting motors and encoders to DMC-41x3
6. PC running Windows 7 or newer (64 bit) or Linux (64 bit)
7. Ethernet cable or straight-through serial cable
8. GDK software
GDK is recommended for first time users of the DMC-41x3. It provides interactive instructions for system
connection, tuning, and analysis.
