5-5-1 Front End Board
The Front End Board generates the strong transmit bursts, transmitted by the probes as
ultrasound into the body. It also receives weak ultrasound echoes from blood cells and body
structure, amplifies the signals and converts them to an 8 bit digital signal. FEB supports 16
channels Beamformer. The beamformed data is passed through CHACOM ASIC and
subsequently passed through Frame Averaging filter and Mean filter. The Output of FEB is fed to
the Davinci CPU PWA through a board-to-board connector. This connector also provides power
to the Davinci CPU PWA Board.
