Ethernet Connections
Ethernet Connections
For communication to occur, the instrument must be connected via an Ethernet connection to a router. If there are
communication problems between the instrument and the computer, verify that the procedure below has been followed.
1 Connect the router to a power source and then wait 30 seconds for the router to initialize.
2 With the instrument powered OFF, connect one end of an Ethernet cable to a port on the router and the other end to the
ETHERNET port on the rear panel of the instrument.
3 Power the instrument ON and then wait 1 minute for it to initialize. The instrument will be assigned an IP address via DHCP
from the router at this time.
4 Using an Ethernet cable, connect one end of the cable to the connector on the computer and the other end to a port on the
router.
Ethernet Communication
After the connections have been verified, use the procedure below to confirm Ethernet communication.
1 Close software programs controlling Gilson system.
2 Turn off power to the router and the Gilson system.
