Cleaning Program
The parameters in Cleaning Program menu identifies the
operation of the specific cleaning cycle built and programmed for
each specific analyzer.
OXIDATION PHASE CLEANING
The oxidation phase cleaning type in BioTector TOC TN
analyzers is reverse wash by default. If system is built with
reverse wash cleaning cycle option and if a STREAM REVERSE
time is set in Sample Pump menu, the Sample Pump runs
reverse with the Cleaning Valve activated to wash the sample
lines automatically using the BioTector oxidized sample liquid.
During the Span Calibration and Span Check reactions, the
reverse wash cleaning cycle operation is automatically blocked
by the software.
During Manual sample analysis, the reverse wash cleaning cycle
is deactivated by default with the MANUAL REVERSE time set
to 0 seconds. In order to utilize the reverse wash cleaning cycle
during manual sample analysis, system requires a Manual
Bypass Valve, which redirects the oxidized liquid back into drain.
CLEANING START FIRST
CLEANING START determines whether BioTector to start the
cleaning cycle before (FIRST by default) or after (LAST) the
number of reactions programmed in CLEANING PERIOD below.
CLEANING PERIOD 1 , 1
In CLEANING PERIOD 1, 1 setting, the first point “1 by default
defines the number of reactions between each cleaning cycle,
and the second point “1 by default” defines the frequency of the
cleaning cycles to be performed. The default settings of 1 , 1 is
the recommended setting for REVERSE WASH cleaning cycle.
For instance, if the setting is 10 , 1, one reverse wash cleaning
cycle is carried out every tenth reaction.
A setting of 0 , 1 inhibits the reverse wash cleaning cycle.
CLEANING HIGH 0
CLEANING HIGH (0 by default) defines the frequency of the
cleaning cycle if the TOC result exceeds the value set in
CLEANING HIGH AL below. In other words, if the TOC result is
over the level set in CLEANING HIGH AL, the cleaning cycle
frequency defined in CLEANING HIGH is used.
CLEANING HIGH AL 1000.0mgC/l
CLEANING HIGH ACTIVATION LEVEL defines the
concentration level (1000mgC/l by default), over which the
cleaning cycle switches to the frequency setting defined in
CLEANING HIGH above.
LIQUID PHASE CLEANING
CLEANING START LAST
CLEANING START states whether BioTector to start the liquid
phase cleaning cycle before (FIRST) or after (LAST by default)
the number of reactions programmed in CLEANING PERIOD
below.
CLEANING PERIOD 50 , 1
In CLEANING PERIOD 50, 1 setting, the first point 50 by
default” defines the number of analysis reactions between each
cleaning cycle, and the second point “1 by default” defines the
frequency of the cleaning cycles to be carried out. For instance,
when the setting is 50,1, system performs a single cleaning
cycle at the end of every 50
th
reaction.
Note that a setting of e.g. 0, 1 inhibits the liquid phase cleaning
cycle.
