2.7 Laser Safety
Some of the GEN series cards or systems use lasers. All laser products used
are classified as a Class 1 laser product. The lasers do not emit hazardous
light but it is recommended to avoid direct exposure to the beam.
The built-in laser complies with laser product standards set by government
agencies for Class 1 laser products:
l In
the USA, the GEN series products are certified as a Class 1 laser product
conforming to the requirements contained in the Department of Health and
Human Services (DHHS) regulation CDRH 21 CFR, Chapter I Subchapter
J Part 1040.10.
l Outside the USA, the GEN Series products are certified as a Class 1 laser
product conforming to the requirements contained in IEC/EN
60825-1:1994+A1+A2 and IEC/EN 60825-2.
