Here, the terms ”Standard”, ”Compatible”, ”AT” are used for the
basic function and ”two-way” or ”PS/2” for the activation of byte
mode. If ”EPP” is offered for selection, there can still be a
distinction, for example in ”EPP1.7” and ”EPP1.9”; Spider8 works
with 1.7 and 1.9, 1.9 being somewhat faster.
For error-free transfer via the parallel port, the length of the cable is
limited to a few metres. Also, the shielding, pair-formation and
processing must comply with the standard. The cable supplied
satisfies these requirements.
NOTE
If you adjust the BIOS setup, you must save the new
version. This setup will not become active until you
boot up the hardware.
