nance and care. A thorough understanding of
these simple instructions will help you ob- tain
maximum enjoyment from your new Hidea. If
you have any question about the operation or
maintenance of your outboard motor, please
consult a Hidea dealer.
In this Owner’s Manual particularly important
information is distinguished in the following

This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to
alert you to potential personal injury hazards.
Obey all safety messages that follow this
symbol to avoid possible injury or death.
WARNING
A WARNING indicates a hazardous situa-
tion which, if not avoided, could result in
death or serious injury.
TIP:
The F40, F60 and the standard accessories
are used as a base for the explanations and
illus- trations in this manual. Therefore some
items may not apply to every model.
NOTICE
A NOTICE indicates special precautions
that must be taken to avoid damage to the
outboard motor or other property.
TIP:
A TIP provides key information to make pro-
cedures easier or clearer.
