Depending on the selected IP version you can configure your interface with the following settings:
IPv4 Settings
The router can configure its IPv4 address the following ways:
Parameter IPv4 WAN-Modes
DHCP When running as DHCP client, no further configuration is required be-
cause all IP-related settings (address, subnet, gateway, DNS server)
will be retrieved from a DHCP server in the network.
Static Allows you to define static values. Caution has to be taken to assign
a unique IP address as it would otherwise raise IP conflicts in the
network.
PPPoE PPPoE is commonly used when communicating with another WAN
access device (like a DSL modem).
IPv4-PPPoE Settings
The following settings can be applied:
Parameter PPPoE Configuration
User name PPPoE user name for authenticating at the access device
Password PPPoE password for authenticating at the access device
Service name Specifies the service name set of the access concentrator and can
be left blank unless you have multiple services on the same physical
network and need to specify the one you want to connect to.
Access concentrator name The name of the concentrator (the PPPoE client will connect to any
access concentrator if left blank)
