(13) Prepare a new xenon lamp.
Before handling the xenon lamp, carefully read the instructions contained in its case.
Do not touch the quartz glass part of the lamp with bare hands. If the lamp is turned on with dust or
fingerprints left on the surface of the quartz glass part, it may cause contamination burn-in or
devitrification to decrease the radiant intensity or the mechanical strength of the glass part. If the
glass part is contaminated with dust or fingerprints, wipe it using the cleaning paper furnished with
the lamp or the cleaning cotton cloth moistened with a mixture of ethanol and ethyl ether (1:1).
